SFs, police contingents, students infuse patriotic spirit in all district headquarters

Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNO): Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces and students from various schools and colleges participated in full dress rehearsals of the Independence Day parade across the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday. Various contingents of J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, IRP, CAPFs, NCC cadets, and students took part in the rehearsals. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the events also featured captivating cultural performances by school students and local artists, adding a vibrant and festive atmosphere. In Anantnag, the rehearsal was held at Government Degree College Khanabal, where ADC Anantnag Sandeep Singh Bali unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the march-past. Students from various institutions presented colourful cultural programmes. In Awantipora, the parade took place at DPL Awantipora. Tehsildar Awantipora Shakeel Ahmad unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute. Officers from the civil administration, police, and other departments attended. In Baramulla, the rehearsal at Shukat Ali Stadium saw ADC Baramulla Syed Altaf Hussain-JKAS, accompanied by Addl. SP Baramulla, unfurl the National Flag and take the salute. Students also presented vibrant cultural performances. In Kulgam, the event at DPL Kulgam was led by ADDC Kulgam Altaf Ahmad Khan-JKAS and Addl. SP Kulgam Mohammad Aftab Awan-JKPS, who unfurled the National Flag and took the salute. Senior civil and police officers attended. In Shopian, ADDC Shopian Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone-JKAS, accompanied by Addl. SP Shopian Rameez Rashid Bhat-JKPS, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at DPL Shopian. School students performed traditional and patriotic cultural programmes. In Pulwama ADC Pulwama Dr. S.M. Ashraf (JKAS) and Additional SP Pulwama led the ceremony at DPL Pulwama, unfurling the National Flag and inspecting the parade. In Sopore Tehsildar Sopore Sheikh Tariq, along with Addl. SP Sopore Mir Murtaza, led the proceedings at Khushal Sports Stadium, unfurling the National Flag and taking the salute. In Handwara, the rehearsal at DPL Handwara was marked by enthusiasm. Tehsildar Handwara Zeeshan Ahmad Khan unfurled the National Flag and took the salute. Students later presented colourful cultural performances. In Bandipora, ADDC Zafar Ahmad Shawl-JKAS, accompanied by Additional SP Bandipora Ruhail Mircha-JKPS, led the event at Sports Stadium Bandipora. Cultural clubs and students presented vibrant performances after the parade. In Budgam ADC Budgam Mehraj-Ud-Din Shah-JKAS, with Addl. SP Budgam, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at Sports Stadium Budgam in the presence of senior officers. In Ganderbal, ADDC Ganderbal Manzoor Ahmad Bhat-JKAS, along with Addl. SP Ganderbal Parvaiz Ahmad, hoisted the National Flag at Madr-e-Meharban Qamriya Stadium and took the salute. In Kupwara a grand rehearsal at DPL Kupwara was led by ADC Kupwara Gulzar Ahmad Khan, who unfurled the National Flag and took the salute, with senior civil and police officers in attendance—(KNO)
